Germany’s leading train-based tour operator Ameropa will enable their customers to book package holidays throughout Europe. They have chosen the rail technology provided by Online Travel Information Services AG from Switzerland.
Ameropa currently has access to the Deutsche Bahn ticket system, with this new application they will also be able to provide train tickets for the biggest European train companies such as the ÖBB, SBB, SNCF and Trenitalia. These train tickets can then be associated with Ameropa’s hotel inventory using WBS Blank’s back-office system. This sets the course for sustainable train-based holidays.
The core of this software solution is the Rail API Gateway technology, which combines into a single access multiple live interfaces to different rail companies, each with independent timetables and pricing. This access will be seamlessly integrated to their website.
This technology, which was originally developed for the leading Swiss rail operator railtour suisse sa, is now employed by numerous companies worldwide and makes train-based travel easier.
